Emmerdale's Jeff Hordley is 'so upset' at upcoming death of co star

Emmerdale actor Jeff Hordley said he is 'so upset' to be losing his screen partner who will die in upcoming episodes.

Joining Lorraine to discuss the show, Jeff Hordley, who plays Cain Dingle, has said the death will be a massive loss not only for him but for the viewers too. Sally Dexter plays the role of his mother, Faith Dingle, but a terminal cancer storyline means she will soon be leaving the village for good in a heart-wrenching farewell.

Lorraine admitted it sounds like it will be an "emotional" watch. Jeff added: "I'm so upset about losing Sally Dexter though. There are a few actors that have come to the show that when they come on set, you can' take your eyes off them and what they do.

"We were doing something just last night and I was just mesmerised watching her, she's so good and she's such a joy to work with. Such a great human being and I'm so sad to be losing her."

The on-screen mother-son pair have had a rocky relationship throughout the years and even with her terminal diagnosis, Cain remains to be distant and dismissive. Unhappy with the way things have fallen, Faith is desperate to mend the broken relationship with her son before she passes.

Before she passes, Cain will come clean regarding why he is so cold towards her, stating his behaviour stems from abandonment issues he faced as a child. During the latest episode, Emmerdale fans rushed to Twitter to share their opinions on Faith and Cain's rocky relationship.

One person said: "I want to see how far Cain will go. I think it would be interesting if Faith was to collapse in front of Cain and see how he reacts before Chas/Boxy comes rushing in. Because Cain clearly cares at heart but his 1980’s F-Boy energy is not it."
