Emmerdale's Jai actor Chris Bisson emotional as he says goodbye to on-screen sister

Emmerdale Jai Sharma actor Chris Bisson has said an emotional goodbye to his on-screen sister Priya Sharma, played by Fiona Wade, after years of filming the ITV soap together.

After Friday's episode, where Priya's emotional last scenes were aired, emotional Chris took to Instagram to bid her a fond farewell after "highs and lows" of filming together. Priya left the fictional Yorkshire village of Emmerdale after taking a new job in London.

Played by Fiona Wade, 43, she announced that she would be leaving the loved soap after 11 years playing the character. She plans to pursue other acting opportunities away from the ITV village.

Paying tribute to Fiona on Instagram, Chris said goodbye to his "sister". He said: "Goodbye to the girl I call 'sis.' After 11 years, the fabulous Fiona Wade bows out of Emmerdale tonight.

"Priya Sharma has left the building. She is a fabulous actress and has been a huge part of the show and our Sharma family.

"We have been through the highs & lows but, most importantly, always had the most fun filming together. We're all sad to see her go and will miss her immensely.

"Good luck for the future. Whatever you do, you'll always be my sis".

Fiona replied: "Ahh bro I love you. Thankyou!! I couldn’t have got through without my sharma family! Thankyou for always being there and for being the best bro! What amazing memories I will have forever Xxxx"
