Emmerdale's Christmas and New Year schedule confirmed amid ITV shake-up

Emmerdale has confirmed it's full schedule for over the festive period as the ITV soap gears up for a whole host of drama this Christmas.

Fans will know there are currently several secrets set to be exposed in the Dales and as always much of the tension comes to head at Christmas time and fans cannot wait to see how things will play out.

However, it's worth noting there will be a few changes to the schedule, to make sure you don't miss out on any of the hugely anticipated action!

This year both Christmas and New Years Day fall on weekends, this means the broadcaster will be airing extra episodes on days that the much-loved soap doesn't usually show.

Christmas Day will see an hour-long episode on, as viewers will be introduced to a newcomer in the village in the form of Cain Dingle's long-lost brother Caleb.

There will also be a 30-minute special episode on New Years Eve, however, there will not be a New Years Day special this year.

Here is the full Emmerdale schedule for Christmas 2022.

6pm (Hour-long)

Monday, December 26

7pm (30 minutes)

Tuesday, December 27

7.30pm (Hour-long)

Thursday, December 29

Friday, December 30

7.30pm (30 minutes)

Emmerdale will return to its usual schedule on Monday, January 2, when the show will air in it's normal timeslot of 7.30pm. This is with the exception of Friday, January 6, when the show will air slightly earlier at 7pm, due to ITV1's live coverage of the Manchester United vs Everton game.

The soap recently announced the arrival of Coronation Street and Waterloo Road star, Will Ash, who will make his debut appearance in the soap on Christmas Day. He will be playing Caleb Miligan, a well connected, successful businessman and the long-lost brother of Cain Dingle.
