Emmerdale's April actress joins lookalike siblings for filming on Coronation Street

She won her first Inside Soap award when she was just six years old, so it's unsurprising that Amelia Flanagan's acting skills run in the family.

The 13-year-old is best known for playing April Windsor in Emmerdale, but she swapped the Dales for the cobbles as she joined Coronation Street for shooting.

Amelia herself wasn't filming scenes, but her 11-year-old twin brother and sister Isabella and William Flanagan - who play Hope Stape and Joseph Brown - were.

Posing for a photo alongside fellow child actor Jude Riordan, who plays Sam Blakeman, the group smiled in front of the Rovers.

Jude's mum shared the photo on his Instagram account and wrote: "Great day at the Corrie Cast & Crew fun day good catching up with Team Flanagan #corriekids #soonbeintherovers #corrieemmerdalecrossover #friends #corrie #coronationstreet @coronationstreet."

Fans flocked to the comments, with some mistakenly believing initially that Amelia had joined the soap.

One commented: "Thought Amelia was joining Corrie then!"

While another wrote: "Awh that's so awesome you got to have a fun day with the crew and cast! Good you got to catch up with William and Isabella as well as Amelia from Emmerdale."

A third commented: "Absolutely love this Jude brilliant photo of you all and amazing talented young actors you all are."

Another gushed: "Lovely little gang. May they be in Corrie for a long time."

Amelia is currently part of a heartbreaking storyline involving her on-screen father Marlon - played by Mark Charnock - who suffered a stroke.

Last week, Marlon was rushed to hospital as his health took a turn for the worse.

Rhona left Marlon in the hands of her mother - who allowed Bear to take him on a visit to the allotment.

However, once he was there, Marlon's coughing became even worse and Liam took note, suggesting that he drive him to the hospital.

Rhona was furious at her mother for letting Marlon out and was sick with worry when she learnt at the hospital that Marlon has developed aspiration pneumonia.

Will life ever be able to improve for Marlon and his family?

*Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm and Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV
