Emmerdale revenge plot may be coming hints Caleb actor

Emmerdale's new Caleb Miligan could be planning revenge on his brother Cain Dingle, actor Will Ash has hinted.

Caleb, the as-yet-unknown brother of Cain and Chas will make his Emmerdale debut at Christmas. And Will, who plays Caleb, told The Mirror there may be 'dark' scenes to follow, including revenge on Cain for something that happened between the brothers long ago.

The early life of the 'secret' son of Faith Dingle will appear in a series of flashback scenes, including his only meeting with Cain and Chas years ago.

Caleb, who grew up in care, earlier met Cain when Caleb was a teenager. But Cain dishonestly told his younger brother Faith was dead and he should keep away.

After learning the truth decades later, Caleb is keen to know his family despite Cain's opposition. Will has teased Caleb is a 'complex' character with an 'axe to grind' not least because he never met his mum who died recently.

He teased there could be revenge on the way, as he tips Cain's world upside down - amid him being in prison for Al Chapman's murder, which was actually carried out by his young son Kyle.

Will said: "He comes in having this quite dark backstory having been put into care as a child. So when he was like 15, 14, he finds Cain and tries to reconnect with his family and he’s told by Cain that his mum is dead, so to steer clear of the family basically.

"So he spends the rest of his time growing up in care so he comes into it, when he finds out Faith wasn't dead, with a lot of bitterness, and a lot of anger so that complexity and having an axe to grind with Cain."

On possible revenge being on the cards, he went on: "Yeah, he’s got an axe to grind but how he exacts his revenge, I'm not too sure about that or how much I can tell you.

"There’s a lot of bitterness he has been holding on to as you would expect. He has grown up without a family, he's not found his mum and has missed out on the opportunity of knowing who she was. So there’s a lot going on, so I'd say there could be revenge."

But he did reveal he could soon find out what Cain's reasons were for sending him away all those years ago, as he learns all about Cain and Chas' childhood.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
