Emmerdale Mark Charnock should get 'all the awards' for Marlon's stroke scenes

Emmerdale fans have called for actor Mark Charnock to receive 'all of the awards' for his emotional scenes on the soap this week.

In 'hard to watch' scenes viewers have seen the actor portray the character Marlon Dingle as he suffered from a stroke. Tonight's episode saw his partner Rhona trying her best to support him.

We saw him trying to eat, but Rhona was shocked at his liquified meal. She panicked as he started to struggle with it and ran out of the room.

Later, more tear-jerking scenes came as Rhona walked in on him being helped to use the toilet. Again she left after being shocked by the sight before her, obviously finding his decline difficult to handle.

When she returned later, she apologised to him. But using his unsteady writing, he scrawled her a note that read 'no visitors'. He had asked her to leave in his own way.

Fans have had nothing but praise for the actors involved in the scenes and have taken to Twitter to demand that Mark receives 'all of the awards' for his emotional acting. Deluca said: "With soap awards making a return this year Mark Charnock could be in with a shout he has been doing such a good job so far #Emmerdale"

Ryan said: "#Emmerdale. Please give @markcharnock all the awards for this week's episodes." While another user said: "If @markcharnock doesn't get an award after this, then I'm gonna write an email to them in charge #Emmerdale"

Vanity said: "Marlon telling Rhona to go home. Zoe and mark's ability to make me cry in every single scene, they already deserve all the awards for this storyline #emmerdale"

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV and ITV Hub
