Emmerdale fans are sure they've worked out Nicky's plan to double cross his father Caleb in the 'ultimate betrayal'.
The pair have been introduced to soap fans as father and son, with them working together to bring down Kim Tate and reclaim Home Farm and all its riches, which they think is their birth right given that Caleb's father is Kim's ex-husband Frank Tate.
Nicky has been positioned inside Home Farm, working as a nanny for Gabby Thomas' baby, whilst he has also struck up a fake relationship with Gabby, even going as far as proposing to get her on his side.
Caleb is working alongside Kim on a new breeding programme for horses, and is slowly taking on the reigns at Home Farm, as he tries to get himself closer to her and thus take every penny she has, including the house.
However, fans of the soap are convinced that Nicky could actually be planning to double cross his own father, as they spotted growing tension between the pair. Things have got more and more tense for the duo, as they try and work out what to do next.
Caleb has been getting closer to Leyla, with his son Nicky telling him that she's becoming a distraction. As things get more tense between the pair, some fans are predicting Nicky could go behind his own dad's back in the 'ultimate betrayal'.
Giving their verdict on what could be to come, one fan suggested: "I think Nicky will turn against Caleb."
"Nicky pilling the threats on Caleb in Emmerdale," another noted, as a third shared their thoughts on the storyline: "I wonder if Gabby will end up pregnant with Nicky’s baby, then it’ll be turning point for Nicky in that he’ll fall in love with Gabby & go against his Dad and expose the truth so he doesn’t lose contact with Gabby or his child."
Whatever happens, the actors have teased there'll be "fireworks" when their master plan is revealed.
"It could be a bit of a burden for them both as there's a foot in both families. It's really clever that they’ve used that device to see how much disruption these characters can cause. There’s always been that clash between the Tates and the Dingles but it will really ramp it up now! It’s really big what Caleb and Nicky are attempting to do so there are a lot of fireworks ready to go off," William Ash shared.
