Emmerdale fans will be 'surprised' by storm deaths as village faces 'a lot of tragedy'

Emmerdale star Kevin Mathurin has hinted there's plenty more death on the way, following the demise of Harriet Finch on Monday night.

After a quad bike crash and an explosion left her and Kim Tate in grave danger, it was revealed Harriet had not survived.

But it seems there's much more death on the way, amid fears Sam Dingle might not survive his own horror accident.

The character found himself impaled on a spike after fleeing a cow stampede, and his fate remains a mystery.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror at the Inside Soap Awards 2022, Charles Anderson actor Kevin teased fans would be "surprised" by which villagers end up being affected by the storm.

Not only that, he teased multiple funerals and "a lot of tragedy" for the remainder of the big stunt week.

Asked about how much death there might be, he told us: "I think you will be surprised by who is going to be affected, you will be surprised."

On the aftermath of the big storm, Kevin spilled the repercussions would go on for the rest of the year.

He said: "There is gonna be a lot of tragedy and through that, it's gonna bring the village together. All the differences we have had with families, the feuds and stuff is gonna culminate and be irrelevant, compared to the aftermath of the storm.

"It is going to be a busy time for Charles, gathering people around to help out and bring camaraderie, and there are a few funerals to come."

On the future, he went on: "There is going to be so many branches of storylines developing from what happens in the storm, so I think one episode is not enough.

"There is gonna be a couple of weeks of different things happening at the same time. It is gonna be a really interesting few weeks.

"That will carry us to the end of the year and then the aftermath, and then things will start to lighten up a little bit for Christmas."
