Emmerdale fans think there's a massive blunder in Vanessa and Pierce kidnap scenes

There are just some things that don't go unnoticed by dedicated soap fans.

And Emmerdale will know all about it as they're the latest to suffer a massive blunder in the eyes of viewers.

Over in the ITV soap, Vanessa is currently being kept hostage by evil Pierce who returned to the village last month as the killer of Graham.

Since his return, he has been trying to plan a way of winning back his ex wife Rhona and so far, it's not going to plan.

During Monday night's episode, Vanessa's last-ditch attempts to escape her captor came to no avail.

Things are not looking great for Vanessa (ITV)

And Rhona soon receives a video call from Vanessa who reveals she's with Pierce, leaving her completely horrified as she realises what has happened.

As Vanessa struggles to communicate and Pierce hijacks the phone and Rhona is left frozen with horror as she sees his face again.

But viewers have been quick to point out that Vanessa could make a much easy escape after all dues to the place she is tied up.

The vet is currently tied to a set of drawers in Mulberry Cottage and fans have a lot to say about it.

Rhona realised Pierce is back during the episode (ITV)

One said: "Taken me a week to realise, but is Vanessa tied to a drawer handle? Couldn't she just... lift the drawer out and escape?"

Another added: "Vanessa is hardly chained to the bars of strangeways.... set of draws... and if they are ikea then they will come off with one big tug."

"Anyone want to tell Vanessa that if she yanked really hard the draw would prob come out," a third said.

A fourth questioned: "Am I being really stupid but couldn't Vanessa just yank the draw out and break free? #Emmerdale."

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm on ITV.
