Lucy Pargeter has played Chas Dingle in Emmerdale for more than two decades.
She is instantly recognisable for her Dales character, and has been at the centre of many hard-hitting storylines over the years. Long-term fans of the soap will remember she initially entered the fictional Yorkshire village when she was hired as a stripper for her own cousin's stag do.
She has also had her fair share of romance, and more recently a relationship that has not ended well. She cheated on Paddy Kirk with Al Chapman, who was later shot dead by her own nephew.

And while Chas is at the forefront of yet another dramatic plot, the actress who plays her has celebrated her birthday. She took to Twitter to share a photo of herself in front of a cake full of lit candles.
In the snap she was sat next to fellow Emmerdale star Isabel Hodgins, who plays Victoria Barton. Lucy said: "Starting my 46th year in the company of fantastic friends and my heart and life full of love and peace".
Fans were quick to wish Lucy well, with many saying the same thing about her age. Emma said: "I’m sorry I’m not accepting your 46 , you look early 30s . Nope not having it. BTW Happy Birthday, you look amazing xxx".
Ashley said: "46?! You must mean 36, surely x" and Barbara said: "46 never looked better".
