Emmerdale fans 'rumble' Jamie Tate's secret as they predict return for Joe Tate

Emmerdale fans are holding onto fresh hope that Joe Tate could return, after predicting a link between him and newcomer Jamie Tate.

Kim Tate’s son Jamie, Joe’s uncle, made his return to the village for the first time in over 20 years recently, last seen as a tiny toddler.

It’s clear he and mum Kim have some things to work on, with him not being the villain’s biggest fan.

But fans are now aware the character has a secret, after recent scenes saw actor Alexander Lincoln’s character acting pretty shifty.

An episode that aired early in May saw Jamie avoiding his phone, which was continuously ringing during a conversation with his mother.

When he eventually looked down at his mobile, the screen revealed he’d received 12 missed calls.

Fans were pretty suspicious, with it clear he was hiding something.

As he continued to ignore whoever was ringing him, viewers took to Twitter to share their theories.

One of the popular predictions, which fans are still questioning now ahead of the reveal, is that the mystery caller is Joe.

Joe was thought to have been killed off in October after Kim ordered him dead, with Joe having been working for her for well over a year before she decided he was becoming a problem.

Months later, it was confirmed Joe was still alive and actually on the run, with Graham Foster helping him escape.

Much to the heartache of fans, Joe actor Ned Porteous claimed he wouldn’t be returning to the role, but could that be about to change?

One viewer predicted: “Bet you that’s Joe ringing Jamie,” as another asked: “Is Jamie really in cahoots with Joe?”

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on ITV.
