Emmerdale fans in tears over legend Lisa Dingle's touching funeral

Emmerdale fans were left in tears tonight as the villagers said goodbye to Lisa Dingle in poignant scenes.

The Dingle matriarch, played by Jane Cox, heartbreakingly died just hours after her wedding to Zak Dingle.

This evening, her friends and family paid tribute to her during her funeral.

In one particularly sweet scene, Belle paid tribute to her mum with a touching speech in the chapel.

She said: "Stop the clocks, turn off the mobile phones, prevent the pigs from grunting and just let them roam.

"She was my best friend and she was my mum. Today I feel empty and today I feel numb."

Belle continued after a pause: "She said it how it was and she kept it real, with a heart of gold and nerves of steel.

"What you saw was what you got. My dad married her and hit the jackpot.

"Mum, you meant more than any words could say. I just wish I had tomorrow and not yesterday."

Heartbroken viewers flocked to Twitter , with one commenting: "Beautifully emotions expressed by Belle for mom #LisaDingle #Emmerdale #MSBNMph."

While another remarked: "And cue all #Emmerdale fans busting into tears!"

A third commented: "Beautiful."
