Emmerdale fans forced to double take as Charity Dingle undergoes 'iconic' transformation

Emmerdale viewers were in hysterics over Charity Dingle's latest antics on the ITV soap on Thursday.

The character, still trying to rebuild her relationship with granddaughter Sarah Sugden, decided to undergo a transformation.

Sarah did not even recognise her gran when she came face-to-face with her, with her led to believe it was in fact another character.

Charity underwent quite the makeover to trick Sarah, and she pulled it off with her looking barely recognisable.

Donning a wig, a fluffy coat and a different wardrobe to her usual look, Charity dressed up as none other than Sarah's other gran Diane Sugden, and the look was uncanny.

She looked just like the character, to the point Sarah thought it was really her until Charity turned around.

Charity had the look down, with matching hair and clothes to what Diane would normally look like.

As she turned around, she began laughing and Sarah did too, as it finally eased the tension between the pair.

With Sarah mistaking her two grandmothers, she wasn't the only one who thought the character did an impressive job.

Viewers took to Twitter sharing their thoughts, with some calling it "iconic" and others being forced to double take.

One fan wrote: "Charity dressed as Diane is absolutely iconic."

A third said: "Charity dressed up as Diane! Love it!"

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
