Emmerdale fans convinced Meena is in danger as prison guard Ian 'has something to hide'

Emmerdale fans think Meena Jutla is in danger - as they believe prison guard Ian is 'hiding something'.

The evil serial killer's trial has begun now, with Manpreet Sharma set to take to the stand later and give her testimony, in what will no doubt be a tough thing for her, as she has to recount the harrowing ordeal her sister put her through.

During last night's episode, Meena was seen flirting with the guard Ian before she made her way to the dock to face the judge, jury and the rest of the court for what promises to be an exciting week on the ITV soap.

However, some fans of the show think Meena is in danger - as she flirts with Ian, as they predict he has an ulterior motive.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: "Does anyone else think ‘Ian’ is an undercover copper getting info on Meena?" whilst a second shared their own theory, adding: "Is Ian a double agent? #emmerdale."

A third wrote: "Now I've been thinking … Ian the prison officer who is actually a police officer who’ll be called as a last minute character witness to wipe the smug smile off Meena’s face, once & for all. The villagers need justice."

Actress Paige Sandhu recently teased Meena's court case could go one of two ways.

"Meena actually does smash it, she does give the performance of a lifetime. Even with the defence she blows it out of the park. She breaks down in tears, she’s very convincing. There’s no hint of the mask slipping at all," she told The Mirror recently.

"Then with the prosecution he does go for her, but to her credit she deals with his attacks better than anyone else. I think she does manage to, in her mind, sway the jury and bat the prosecution away. I think she did a really good performance."

Paige has revealed Meena causes quite some upset before the trial comes to an end.

"The things she says are very upsetting … she does it so convincingly, you can see Liam, Leyla, Manpreet and Charles getting upset about this. They wouldn’t be getting as upset if it didn't sound so believable and true," she explained, "I think the way the trial goes and the way it has been shot, the way we have the prosecution and the defence, they are both excellent actors both of them. I think the audience will be on the edges of their seats not knowing what is gonna happen, which way it is gonna go."
