Emmerdale exit as Al Chapman leaves village after threat - but is he gone for good?

Emmerdale aired an exit on Wednesday, as Al Chapman appeared to leave the village while he still could - with it not previously revealed that he was leaving the show.

The character, played by actor Michael Wildman, left the Dales after he was was found out earlier this week for two-timing fiancée Priya Sharma and his secret lover Debbie Dingle.

The ladies teamed up and decided to ruin his life, before exposing him.

Once the whole village learned the truth they turned against him, including son Ellis and the families of Priya and Debbie.

Al has also been accused of stealing money from the business account by boss Kim Tate - when in fact Debbie and Priya stole the money to set him up.

After a sinister threat from Cain Dingle, and Kim warning him to pay the money back or else, Al had no option but to leave.

He told son Ellis he had a job opportunity in Belfast, and that's where he was heading after booking a ferry ticket.

Someone had burst one of his car tyres though leaving him unsure, but he eventually decided it was for the best.

Ellis was distraught though, because he knew he might never see his dad again - and believed Al wasn't even bothered about him.

Al claimed he needed to go as it was his only chance to raise some cash, before he had a final showdown with Debbie who was pleased to see he was leaving.

It's then that he got into his car and sped out of the village, taking once last look as he did.

But has Al gone for good, or will he be back?

It was teased he could be the victim of a murder twist, when characters started threatening him including Cain and Kim.

Even Debbie joked about killing him when she and Priya decided how to get their revenge.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
