Emmerdale confusion as Lydia gets Liv arrested

Emmerdale fans were confused at what Lydia's motive was when she called the police on Liv leading to her being arrested.

Liv was found with Ben's missing phone after he was murdered, with footage on it making it look like she was to blame for his death.

The video showed her raging at him, going at him and shouting vile things.

But drunken Liv couldn't remember the night and couldn't explain how or why she had his phone.

Lydia was aware of the footage, as was Aaron, and they all swore to stick to the 'Dingle Code' and keep it as a secret between themselves.

But Lydia went back on her word and reported the extra information to the police leading to them arresting innocent Liv.

Lydia professed that she thought Liv was innocent and hadn't hurt Ben and Fans on Twitter just couldn't get their heads around her motivation.

Amelia said: "I just honestly don’t see why Lydia phoned the police on Liv if she thinks she didn’t murder Ben? what’s she got out of that? #emmerdale."

Another user said: "Lydia’s grassing isn’t plausible- just another silly twist in this tedious plot. Hurry up & get Meena sorted."

Ryan said: "'Lydia: I don't believe Liv is a murderer' Yet you still drop Liv into the police sometimes honesty isn't the best policy."

In the episode, the police said that they found the phone footage and also claimed that they found Liv's DNA on Ben.

The episode ended with her saying that she had been charged with Ben's murder, as she begged Aaron to believe that she didn't do it.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV and ITVHub with an extra episode on Thursdays at 8pm
