Emma Raducanu has said that she is “feeling better” after she withdrew mid-match at the Wuhan Open.

The British No1 was taking on the American Ann Li in China, having been beaten by Jessica Pegula, the world No6, in the last 32 of the China Open in the days prior.

The 22-year-old struggled with the heat in the Hubei province, and found herself a set and 4-1 down when the trainer was called on to attend to her.

Raducanu retired from the match immediately afterwards, citing dizziness.

Three days on, she took to Threads to issue an update on her situation.

"Last day at the doctors in Wuhan,” she posted.

“Feeling better now. Shame I couldn't continue there, but thank you for the messages.”

This year, Raducanu has flown back up the WTA rankings, with runs to the third round at the Australian and US Opens, and at her home Grand Slam, Wimbledon.

She defeated 26th seed Ekaterina Alexandrova, as well as future Wimbledon finalist Amanda Anisimova, in Melbourne, before being knocked out by Iga Swiatek.

She fell to the Pole in the second round of the French Open, before pushing Aryna Sabalenka all the way in the last 32 of Wimbledon, having defeated former champion Marketa Vondrousova with a scintillating second-round showing.

She reached the semi-finals of the Washington Open before being knocked out in the third round of the US Open by Elena Rybakina, the ninth seed.
