Emergency services rush to scene after man hit by DART in Blackrock, South Dublin

A man has been injured after being hit by a DART in South Dublin.

Emergency services rushed to the scene in Blackrock where the extent of the man's injuries are still unknown.

A garda spokesman confirmed they are at the scene and said the investigation into exactly what happened is ongoing.

He said: "Gardaí and emergency services are currently at the scene of an incident at Blackrock Dart Station.

"A male (age unknown) was hit by a Dart train. The man has received injuries which are unknown at this stage.

"Investigations are continuing."

Irish Rail say there are "significant" delays to services following the incident.

The majority of the southside stations were out of action with services only running between Dun Laoghaire and Greystones, and Pearse Station to Howth/Malahide.

Full service has since resumed but with knock-on delays.
