Emergency services have rushed to the scene of a lorry which has overturned on the motorway.
Police, paramedics and highways officers are at the scene of junction 8 on the M62 heading eastbound at the entry slip and roundabout.
A lorry has overturned, causing the slip road to be temporarily closed at Burtonwood Interchange in Warrington, near Wigan, from around 8am today (June 21).
The driver is believed to be safe, but motorway police say they are being checked over by paramedics.
In a statement, North West Motorway Police said: “RTC M62 J8 eastbound entry slip/roundabout.
“Highways and Police remain on scene - we are temporarily closing the slip to assist us in the safe recovery of the overturned vehicle.
“[Driver] being checked out with ambulance/hospital staff to be on the safe side.”
