Emergency services rush to vehicle fire near Fife petrol station

A vehicle has caught ablaze near a petrol station in Fife this morning.

In an image shared on Twitter, a vehicle can be seen in flames on the A921 near the Dalgety Bay BP petrol station, with smoke billowing from the road.

There is so sign of a driver in the picture amongst the chaos and it is understood that emergency services are now at the incident.

In a tweet South West Fife Police have said:

"The A921 between the BP roundabout, Dalgety Bay and Hillend Road, Inverkeithing, is currently closed doe to a vehicle on fire and oil on the road. Please avoid the area and use an alternative route. Thanks for your patience."
