Emergency services sprang into action after a car was set alight outside a home in a north Dublin town this evening.

The vehicle was set ablaze in broad daylight in the Bremore Court area of Balbriggan at around 6pm.

Gardai and Dublin Fire Brigade raced to the scene and brought the blaze under control.

Luckily no one was injured in the incident, which a garda spokeswoman told Dublin Live is being investigated as a case of criminal damage.

She said: "Criminal damage was caused when a car was set alight on Bremore Court, Ballbriggan.

"No persons were injured during the incident and both Gardaí and Dublin Fire Brigade attended the scene. Investigations ongoing."
