Emergency services called to reports of man on bridge near HMP Forest Bank

Emergency services were called to Salford last night over reports of a man on a bridge.

Police and paramedics rushed to the scene on Agecroft Road, near HMP Forest Bank, at around 11.25pm. The man was brought down to safety.

He was then taken to hospital from the scene. Police said this morning (Monday) that the man is now being cared for by specialist officers.

In a statement, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “At around 11:25pm on Sunday 18 December 2022, officers were called to a concern for welfare for a man on a bridge in Swinton. Emergency services attended the scene on Agecroft Road and the man was brought to safety.

"The man was then taken to hospital and is being cared for by specialist officers.”
