The federal government says 85 per cent of its promised support from the devastating bushfires of 2019/20 has been delivered.
The black summer bushfires burned 24 million hectares of land, destroyed 3000 homes and wiped out three billion animals.
Emergency Management Minister Bridget McKenzie told parliament on Monday some $2.8 billion in federal support has been made available for recovery and 85 per cent had been delivered.
"This includes $1.7 billion delivered from the National Bushfire Recovery Fund, supporting locally-led efforts on the ground because we know that locals know what's best for their community," Senator McKenzie said.
There have been 5000 properties cleared, over 200,000 disaster recovery payments made to individuals, over 88,000 back-to-school payments of $400 to families, over 27,000 grants and loans to small businesses and farmers, and financial assistance to 3200 volunteer firefighters.
Critics have raised concerns about the scope for pork-barrelling in marginal electorates ahead of next year's election.
