Edinburgh emergency crews race to car crash at Queensferry Crossing

Emergency services have raced to the scene of a crash just before the Queensferry Crossing that took place just after 3 pm today (November 18).

Police, the Scottish Fire Service and an ambulance rushed to attend the one-vehicle crash after receiving reports at 3.25 pm on Friday afternoon.

Images show an ambulance and fire engines speeding along the A90 on the South Queensferry side of the bridge.

It is not yet known if the driver was injured, but emergency services arranged to take the destroyed vehicle away.

There have been delays and heavy traffic across the country due to heavy rain and bad weather.

The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for Edinburgh and the Lothians until 6 pm on Friday, November 18 with a high risk of flooding. There have been many delays to both public transport and rail services due to the weather.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.25 pm on Friday, 18 November 2022, officers received a report of a one-vehicle crash on the A90, South Queensferry near the Queensferry Crossing."

They added: “Emergency services attended and arrangements were made for the vehicle to be recovered.”
