Emergency crews descend on Renfrewshire back road after 'concern for welfare' call for young man

Emergency crews raced to a Renfrewshire back road this morning after reports a man had taken unwell.

Traffic heading from Foxbar to Elderslie along Mackie's Mill Road was halted when a young man was spotted lying by the roadside near Brandy Burn around 8.10am this morning.

Police and ambulance teams cared for the stricken young man before he was taken away for medical treatment.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police received a call regarding concern for the welfare of a young man on Mackie's Mill Road, Renfrewshire at around 8.10am this morning.

"Police and the ambulance service arrived on the scene a short time later."
