Elton John performs Tiny Dancer with Rocketman star Taron Egerton at Oscars party

Elton John performed a duet with Taron Egerton - the actor who plays him in forthcoming biopic Rocketman - at the musician's annual Oscars party.

The pair treated the crowd to an impromptu rendition of 1972 hit “Tiny Dancer” with John on the piano and Egerton on vocals. It came during an auction to benefit the musician's AIDS Foundation

Rocketman is directed by Dexter Fletcher, who replaced Bryan Singer when he was fired from Bohemian Rhapsody. It also stars Jamie Bell as John's longtime collaborator Bernie Taupin, Richard Madden as manager John Reid and Bryce Dallas Howard as his mother.

John hosts an Academy Awards party every year, as does Madonna. This year's ceremony saw Green Booktake home Best Picture with The Favourite star Olivia Colman taking home Best Actress

Bohemian Rhapsody's Rami Malek won Best Actor for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury, while Regina King (If Beale Street Could Talk) and Mahershala Ali (Green Book) took home Best Supporting Actress and Best Supporting Actor, respectively. You can find a full list of winners here.

Rocketman will be released in UK cinemas on 24 May.
