Ellie Goulding and Jamie Oliver lead list of celebs sharing throwback snaps for viral trend

It looks like they were just Biden their time.

This shot of a young Joe Biden with wife Jill – taken long before his Presidential bid at the age of 77 – is part of a new “how it started vs how it’s going” craze sweeping social media.

Thousands have been posting throwback photos, including a host of celebs.

It started out as a romantic trend on Twitter, with couples showing how they met and alongside snaps taken years later celebrating their engagement or families.

While others have used the meme to track their career trajectories, their weight loss, or other life goals.

Love Me Like You Do singer Ellie Goulding showcased her incredible career journey, with a picture of her starting out as a fresh-faced youngster performing to a small audience in a marquee.

This was compared to a spectacular shot of her leaping onstage in front of a packed arena.

While Jill Biden shared an intimate picture of herself and US presidential candidate Joe Biden as a young couple, alongside a recent snap from the campaign trail.

French DJ David Guetta shared 'how it started' with a picture of himself listening to music on a pair of headphones as a young child – compared to one of him at the decks in front of thousands of revellers.

While chef Jamie Oliver shared a sweet throwback picture of him and his wife of 20 years Jools, alongside one of the pair with their five kids Poppy Honey, Petal Blossom, River Rocket, Daisy Boo and Buddy Bear.

Former Lioness turned football pundit Alex Scott posted a picture of herself as a youth player, next to one of her presenting for BBC Sport.

And Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy also tracked his sporting career, with a snap of him alongside teammates as a young lad compared to one of him posing for fans at a match.

Well they certainly get our vote...
