Elle MacPherson makes surprising admission about her modelling career

Elle MacPherson was one of the most in-demand models back in the 80s and 90s, but says she never actually loved her job.

The Australian native, 59, who earned the nickname “The Body” during her heyday, made the surprising admission during a recent appearance on ITV’s This Morning.

“I didn’t love modelling but I love what modelling brought me,” the former cover star reflected, as she explained that her avourite part about being in the industry was “creating imagery and producing and art-directing and seeing magic come to life.

“It’s been a beautiful means to an end for me because I travel, I’m independent and I have had a large scope of a career because of it,” she continued, explaining how she had initially started modelling to save up for law school.

While law school never materialised, her modelling career led to other doors being flung open to her.

She launched a successful line of lingerie, Elle Macpherson Intimates, in the 1990s and later expanded the brand to make beauty products. In 2014, Macpherson co-founded the health supplement business WelleCo.

The mum-of-two then branched out into TV hosting and acting, and was even cast as a recurring character on hit noughties US sitcom Friends.
