Eli Manning had a funny reaction to Peyton Manning winning an Emmy Award

Peyton Manning’s broadcasting career is off to a great start.

The former quarterback won an Emmy Award on Monday in the “Outstanding Personality/Event Analyst” category. The award was given in recognition of Peyton’s work on the ManningCast, ESPN’s alternate broadcast of select Monday Night Football games.

Peyton and his younger brother, Eli, commentate on select MNF games each season as part of the ManningCast, but only Peyton won an Emmy this year. Eli then took to Twitter with a funny tweet to troll his brother for the award.

“I did not know you could win an Emmy for just telling fans when coaches should call timeout,” Eli tweeted on Monday evening.

Eli, of course, was referencing when Peyton was visibly frustrated when former Denver Broncos coach Nathaniel Hackett opted not to call a timeout late in the team’s season opener against the Seattle Seahawks last year.

Hackett’s decision ended up backfiring and Peyton’s reaction went viral on social media. That moment undoubtedly helped the ex-QB’s Emmy odds.

Congrats to Manning, who continues to win everywhere he goes.
