Electronics firm Box expands into larger Tamworth base

A supplier of electronic and tech goods is relocating to a new home seven times larger than its current premises in Birmingham.

Box, which sells consumer products such as tablets, computers, printers and phones, will move from Minworth to a new 119,000 sq ft warehouse on St Modwen Park in Tamworth after outgrowing its previous base.

The new facility gives the company extensive new warehousing space, larger open-plan offices and meeting rooms and greater parking for employees and customers.

It also has space for a display showroom and a click-and-collect service point.

St Modwen Park covers 32 acres next to the M42 and Box is occupying the fourth and final phase building to be developed there, with the move due to complete by the summer.

The business was founded by chief executive Mark Jordan in 1996 and now employs more than 100 people.

He said: "We're extremely proud of what we've been able to achieve from our base in Minworth.

"However, we feel that the time is right to capitalise on our strong recent financials and continue our growth within a building that better suits our goals and aspirations.

"The building's larger size will enable us to create a better working environment for our staff, allowing us to acquire and retain top talent, while space for new warehousing automation will provide greater efficiencies in order for us to provide an even better service to our loyal customers.

"We're very excited to be opening up a streamlined click-and-collect service point with an adjoining showroom for selected electricals.

"We believe this will provide us with greater flexibility to service a growing market of savvy online shoppers who want to avoid delivery times and costs by collecting themselves.

"This move represents an exciting time for the company and we can't wait to welcome our staff, customers and vendors to our new home when we officially move in."

Polly Troughton, managing director of St Modwen Logistics, added: "We're delighted to offer Box quality warehouse space within our flagship park which will allow their business to continue to flourish."
