Election results from Blackpool local council election 2023 count

Voters in Blackpool, Lancashire, have had their say in the 2023 local elections.

A total of 42 councillors will be elected across Blackpool's 21 wards, two in each. The Blackpool Council wards are Anchorsholme, Bispham, Bloomfield, Brunswick, Claremont, Clifton, Greenlands, Hawes Side, Highfield, Ingthorpe, Layton, Marton, Norbreck, Park, Squires Gate, Stanley, Talbot, Tyldesley, Victoria, Warbreck and Waterloo.

Ahead of the election, Blackpool Council was controlled by the Labour Party. The council is a unitary authority, having the powers of a county council and district council combined.

Local elections took place for more than 200 local authorities across the UK. Mayoral elections are also taking place in Bedford, Leicester, Mansfield and Middlesborough.

Voters were only electing their local councillors in this election with the next General Election not scheduled until 28 January 2025 at the very latest.

Polls closed at 10pm on Thursday, May 4, with the count taking place on Friday.
