GREATER NOIDA: From Friday, the elderly and the differently abled in Greater Noida will not have to stand in queues for electricity-related services. The power discom will provide all such services to the elderly at their doorsteps. Called the DoorStep Services (DSS), these facilities include new connection, load enhancement or reduction, name and address correction, and shifting of meters.
DSS can be availed through Noida Power Company Limited’s (NPCL) website — www.noidapower.com — and WhatsApp number 0120-6226666, which is also the call centre number. The queries raised will be addressed by the company’s customer relations team which will send executives to their homes. A mobile app called ‘NPCL’ will also be launched on July 20 to address these services.
“DSS are specially designed for the elderly and the differently abled or infirm (those with medically certified chronic illness or disability,” Sarnath Ganguly vice president (operations), NPCL, said. “This initiative will not only make life easier for people for whom it is difficult to commute and stand in long queues, but also for those who face challenges with technology-driven platforms.”
In this, while the customer relations team of NPCL will assess the request once made from any of these three platforms, they will then send their personnel to the registered communication address of the customer.
While the website and WhatsApp services begin on July 15, the NPCL mobile app will be available from July 20, and testing is underway for it.
