Edinburgh Zoo releases first images of tiny baby goat

THE Royal Zoological Society of Scotland has shared the first pictures of an adorable baby Bagot goat, known as a kid.

The female youngster, Grace, was born to parents Patrick and Janice at Edinburgh Zoo on February 19.

The adults were named by students from Dalkeith High School.

The pair previously welcomed another Bagot goat, Frederick, in May 2022.

Bagots are believed to be Britain’s oldest species of goat. The animals act as important conservation grazers, clearing invasive scrub and woodland species to promote biodiversity which benefits other wildlife.

This comes just two months after Edinburgh Zoo shared its first images of an antelope calf, named Yara, was born to parents Arnold and Arya.
