Edinburgh is set for some pretty chilly weather conditions in the next few weeks with forecasters predicting snow and sub zero temperatures.
According to the AccuWeather, snow showers are expected as early as Saturday January 29, meaning you may want to avoid going out that weekend.
The snow is predicted to fall about 6cm with the majority of it falling in the morning. The overall chance of precipitation is said to be 63%.
The week of January 24 in general seems to be a rather cold week with temperatures reaching minus one on most days.
Snow is also expected to fall again in the city a few days later on February 3 and 4.
Forecasters predict that snow on February 3 will only come to about one centimetre whilst just 0.4cm will lay the following day.
The forecast for February 3 reads that a "thick cloud cover with a little rain, mixed with snow early on" whilst the fourth reads that it will be "mostly cloudy with a bit of snow and rain at times in the morning followed by a passing shower in the afternoon."
According to Met Office, tonight will be clear with some "mist, drizzle and hill fog patches developing especially for Dumfries and Galloway."
Looking ahead to the rest of the week and Thursday (January 12) is expected to be rather cloudy with the "odd spot of light rain over high ground of Dumfries and Galloway. Otherwise dry with some sunshine, best towards East Coast."
They add: "Remaining settled overall but some low cloud, fog patches and drizzly rain on Friday with light winds. Brighter on Saturday and becoming colder later on Sunday with winds turning northwesterly."
