Edinburgh Terminal V announces techno legends for November Distrikt 14 lineup

Edinburgh’s Terminal V festival has announced the line up for a weekend of smaller events to replace their Halloween blowout party after it was cancelled due to Covid fears.

Distrikt 14, headlined by techno legends Ben Klock and Sven Vath is to replace the postponed two-night gig at the end of October after organisers were forced to shelve the event over concerns of ‘extreme pressure facing the NHS ’.

Over 40,000 fans had been expected to pack into the Royal Highland Centre on Halloween weekend.

However, that has now been replaced with the November line up on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 at the Capital’s newly-named O2 Academy.

Around 7,000 techno fans are set to create a buzzing atmosphere across the weekend at the Corn Exchange, with the likes of Joseph Capriati, Len Faki, DJ Stingray 313, Rolando and Planetary Assault Systems also on the bill.

Organisers say the event "promises to bring Terminal V’s signature production, groundbreaking lighting, visual installations and forward-thinking concepts" to fill the gap until the planned return of their showpiece in April next year.

The October gig, which was due to feature Nina Kraviz and Amelie Lens, had previously fallen victim to the pandemic in 2020 while a summer programme this year was also cancelled due to uncertainty over coronavirus restrictions.

Ticket holders for that event are to be given priority access for the November lineup when briefs go on sale on Friday at 12pm.
