Edinburgh's Boom: Battle Bar to open soon in city centre with axe throwing and crazy golf

Edinburgh’s Boom: Battle Bar UK is set to open soon and is currently recruiting for staff.

Boom: Battle Bar UK will have a large bar area at their new Omni Centre base, with battle activities like axe-throwing, augmented darts, shuffleboard and crazier golf among many on offer.

Combined with that punters in Edinburgh will be offered theatrical cocktails, like Ping Pong Colada and Hole in One, with a frozen golf ball inside, and a massive variety of street foods, as they compete with friends in the high energy environment.

It was revealed last year that Edinburgh Council had granted permission for the new venue and now Boom: Battle Bar have revealed they are close to opening.

An online post on their website promises that they are ‘opening soon’ and the entertainment giants are currently recruiting staff in Edinburgh.

Two new units will be redeveloped at the Omni Centre, with Boom: Battle Bar operating in premises recently vacated by the Filling Station restaurant, while the old Frankie and Benny’s is to be taken over too.

As part of expansion plans they are bringing their entertainment battlegrounds to new venues across the UK, including Edinburgh and Glasgow.

The prices vary dependent on the game but some are dearer than others.

Axe-throwing is the most expensive and can cost up at £120 for an hour for up to 10 people and Crazier Golf is roughly £40 for four people.

Upon planning permission being granted last year, spokesperson Elliott Shuttleworth said: “The Boom brand is set to become the leading competitive socialising offering in the UK.

“We have secured some of best prime retail space that has meant we have had to invest a huge amount of money to accelerate our growth plans. We have had incredible demand for Booms from prospective franchisees and are currently signing up new franchisees on a weekly basis.”

Edinburgh Live have contacted Boom: Battle Bar for news on the exact opening date and will bring you the latest updates as they become available ahead of the grand opening.
