Police Scotland have confirmed a person has been arrested, following an incident that took place in Edinburgh today, April 5.

Emergency services were called to Royston Mains Crescent around 9:15 this morning, following reports of a man standing on the roof of a building.

Reports of a man appearing on top of the building near the junction with Crewe Road North were circulating, with Police Scotland also confirming that they were present at the scene throughout the day.

A video had also emerged on social media, showing the man standing on top of a building, dressed in black, while police officers and firefighters watch on.

Some three hours after emergency services were first called to the scene, the incident was still ongoing, although a person has now been arrested.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 9.15 am on Tuesday, 5 April 2022, police were called to a report of a concern for person at a property in Royston Mains Crescent, Edinburgh.

"Emergency services attended and several hours later a 27-year-old man was arrested at the property.

"No-one was injured as a result of the incident."

Footage of the incident show various locals standing around a police cordon, as well as multiple officers watching on, as the man appears to be fairly motionless on top of the building.
