Edinburgh police on patrol clamping down on drivers parking outside schools

Edinburgh drivers have been warned as police up patrols around local schools to cracking down on dangerous parking.

Officers headed to three local schools in the capital, including Juniper Green and Currie Primary School, on the hunt for bad parking.

It came after reports of "inconsiderate and dangerous parking", say Police Scotland.

A statement from Edinburgh Police Division read: "SW Community officers attended three local Primary Schools today following reports of inconsiderate and dangerous parking. Please park sensibly, safely, and consider alternative methods of transport where possible."

Officers have also been cracking down on speeding motorists, with one driver in hot water after being clocked by police in Edinburgh driving over 100mph.

Warning that there is "no excuse", police caught one driver going 103mph on the busy motorway at a junction in West Lothian.

Meanwhile, a Ferrari driver was slapped with an ASBO by police in West Lothian.
