You may want to rethink your journey home this evening if you travel via North Bridge in the city centre.
The bridge, which joins the Old Town to New Town will be closed to traffic in both directions this evening from 8pm as part of a huge refurbishment project.
Changes to traffic management on the bridge are common as work switches between east and west sides and progresses southwards.
The bridge will reopen to buses, cars and other vehicles from 6am tomorrow, Saturday 29 August 2020 so it shouldn't affect your weekend plans.

Between Nicolson Street and Princes Street, buses will be diverted via Chambers Street, George IV Bridge, The Mound, Hanover Street, George Street and South St David Street in both directions.

Between Nicolson Street and Picardy Place, buses will be diverted via Chambers Street, George IV Bridge, The Mound, Hanover Street, George Street, South St David Street and Princes Street.
