Edinburgh nightclub posts customers' personal details on Facebook by mistake

An Edinburgh nightclub has mistakenly posted punters' personal data online - including bank details - in a well-meaning Facebook blunder.

Following a busy weekend, The Bongo Club in Cowgate had posted a selection of pictures on their page of various lost property at the popular venue.

The pictures included at least two bank cards, five driving licences with the full details on show, passports, student cards and other personal belongings.

Bank details, full names and addresses on the cards were visible in the pictures.

Punters were quick to pick up on the invasive post as they commented straight away before it was quickly deleted by staff.

The post read: "LOST PROPERTY! If any of this belongs to you or a pal, please call us ASAP to arrange a collection.

"We also have various sets of keys and a few unclaimed phones plus some earbuds."

The post then listed the full names of punters next to the items they had lost in the club for all to see including some bank details and addresses.
