Edinburgh mum 'traumatised' after daughter's car bursts into flames outside home

The dramatic moment a car in Edinburgh exploded into flames after being set alight has been caught on camera.

Two men riding a motorbike allegedly drove up to a car on Hapland Bow in the Burdiehouse area of the city last Thursday at around 12.30 am, before setting it on fire.

In the CCTV footage, a man is caught on camera appearing to deliberately torch the car before making off on a motorbike with another shadowy figure.

The 23-year-old owner of the car lives at her mum's home with her two younger sisters who are four and 14 years old.

Speaking on behalf of her daughter, the mother of the victim who was at home when the ordeal occurred, told Edinburgh Live that her daughter has no idea why anyone would want to target her vehicle.
