Edinburgh Love Island star quits life in the UK to sell houses in Dubai with pal

An Edinburgh Love Island star has quit life in the UK to sell houses in Dubai with a pal as they start a joint business venture.

Jamie Clayton, 30, who appeared on Love Island in 2020, was a recruitment consultant before going into the villa, and returned to his day job shortly after his villa stint.

He is now staying in the profession but on the other side of the world.

Jamie shared the news with business partner Calum White shared the news on the firm's social media account, saying they are open for business and beamed alongside his business partner and pointed at their company logo.

They wrote: "White & Clayton Recruitment has officially opened its doors! Specialising in recruiting positions from Graduate to Executive level within FMCG across the globe.

"The journey begins, watch this space!"

Shortly after leaving the villa, Jamie opened up about his Love Island experience and warned wannabes only to sign up "if they can handle it."

He said: "Although I've been out every night since I've been home there is no such thing as a free meal I can tell you that."

The Edinburgh local continued: "In terms of my experience, I was approached on Instagram via direct message and was asked to go through the initial application that everyone has to do, it's just to spark interest, so I did that and got through stage by stage.

"My opinion on that is that there are so many stages in place to make sure that you are being yourself - they are looking for honest, true answers.

"If you try to go in and pretend to be someone else, someone who has done well on the show in the past and you think that's what ITV or Love Island are looking for, don't bother applying, you will be found out at one point or another."

Recruitment consultant Jamie Clayton began his short-lived Love Island journey in February 2020, where he coupled up with student Natalia in the South African villa.

The 29-year-old often does paid partnerships with brands on his Instagram account, which has more than 90,000 followers.

Just last month fellow Love Island star from the Lothians Paige Turley raised thousands for a tragic 20-year-old who died last year.

The star, from Fauldhouse, completed the London Landmarks Half Marathon and said she wanted to do something in memory of the 20-year-old, who also came from Fauldhouse while raising money for Mental Health Uk.
