The restaurant is famous for their true neapolitan-style pizzas, using a wood-fired oven, naturally risen dough and fresh ingredients imported from the mother country.
The new premises, just off Morningside Road, is currently recruiting for kitchen staff on a full and part-time basis.
They offer traditional pizzas, with a tomato base and mozzarella and fresh basil, but for those looking for a more exotic option their pumpkin puree base pizza is a best seller.
Matto say their pizzas are made with the best Italian products, and the most important ingredient - “passion.”
They explain: “Our handcrafted pizzas are made with the finest imported Italian products and fresh local ingredients and years of experience, intensive research, and passion (the most important ingredient).
“To make a true neapolitan-style pizza, we follow a strict set of specific guidelines including the use of a wood-fired oven that cooks the pizza in 60 seconds, a naturally risen dough made with “00” flour, and origin-specific ingredients– namely, San Marzano tomatoes and Fior di Latte Mozzarella DOP.
“It is said that the best food is the simplest food, and our neapolitan-style pizza, made with the finest ingredients and expert technique, embodies this philosophy.”
