A top hotel in Edinburgh has teamed up with the city's zoo to create a staycation that will have giraffe lovers going wild.

Hotel Indigo Edinburgh and Edinburgh Zoo are offering wildlife fans a unique opportunity to indulge in their love for these fascinating creatures that includes a chance to get up close and personal with them.

The offering includes a stay in Scotland’s only giraffe-themed hotel room, transport to the zoo and the chance to meet their bachelor herd of giraffes in person.

As part of the deal, you'll have access to the uniquely designed suite at the four-star hotel in the capital's New Town which sleeps up to two adults and two children (under 11 only).

The hotel team said the chic wallpaper, luxurious beds, and elegant giraffe decor, will make you think you’ve stepped into Africa.

While the young adventurers in the family will delight in their very own teepee bed, enjoying an indoor glamping experience.

You'll then be transported to the Zoo where you'll have tickets for the zoo itself and you'll get the chance to meet the five Nubian giraffes Gilbert, Gerald, Arrow, Fennessy and Ronnie.

You'll also be supporting the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS), which runs the zoo and has teamed up with the Giraffe Conservation Foundation (GCF) to help maintain and even restore the numbers of giraffes in the wild which have declined by almost 30% since the 1980s.

"To celebrate the return of their giraffes, we’ve partnered with Edinburgh Zoo to bring you an immersive hotel room experience.

"Our exclusive suites pay homage to these majestic creatures with subtle yet stylish touches."
