The Edinburgh Food Project is urgently appealing for a number of products, which will be donated to those most in need in the capital.
The food bank organisation has supported thousands of people in the capital since first launching in 2012, running food banks in the North West, Centre and East of Edinburgh.
While volunteers are continuing to provide people with short-term emergency food parcels during lockdown, they say they are less than two weeks away from running out of some items.
They urgently need:
- UHT milk
- Long-life fruit juice
- Tinned cold meats
- Tinned fruit
- Tinned veg
- Hand wash
- Household cleaning products
A number of the items, including hand wash and UHT milk, were among the most popular products being snapped up by panic buyers in recent weeks.
Although, a number of supermarkets have begun to ease restrictions on how many items shoppers can buy across a range of products.
This will make it easier for customers to buy additional products that can be donated to food banks, like The Edinburgh Food Project.
