Fire crews were called to a Wetherspoons on St Johns Road in Edinburgh earlier this evening after a child became trapped in a toilet.
Traditionally, clientele difficulties arise in locating the bathroom in Wetherspoon establishments, but this time it was the toilet itself that was causing issues.
Firefighters from The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were sent to the popular west Edinburgh watering hole, The White Lady, at around 6:20pm.
A fire engine in attendance at the scene led passersby to believe that a fire may have broken out at either the Ranch or The White Lady.
But the fire service confirmed that no fire took place and that instead they were responding to an incident involving a child who had found themselves in a spot of bother in the restroom.
No further information is available on the incident although it has been revealed that the child was safely removed from the toilet.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 6.20pm on Saturday 2 October to a child stuck in the toilet at The White Lady, St John’s Road, Corstorphine, Edinburgh. One crew attended the scene and freed the child.”
The White Lady is a popular bar in Corstorphine and also operates as a hotel.
