The Eden Hazard admission which will surprise Chelsea supporters

Eden Hazard has made a surprise admission on his performances this season despite netting 19 goals and being Chelsea's stand out performer by far this campaign.

He's laid on another 15 for his team mates in a season where he has single handedly hauled the Blues into next season's Champions League while also helped them to the brink of the Europa League final.

That form hasn't gone unnoticed by the biggest clubs in Europe and it looks he has already made his final Premier League appearance for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge with a summer move to Real Madrid looking more and more likely.

Chelsea talisman Eden Hazard aims thinly veiled dig over PFA team of the year snub

Ask anyone around the Bridge and they will tell you that Hazard has been phenomenal this season, but surprisingly, the man himself doesn't think it's been one of his best seasons and that his performances have instead matched the inconsistencies of his team.

Speaking to the official programme, Hazard said: "For me, the best season is when I'm first in the table.

"I don't care about statistics, you've known me for seven years. I'm not focused on that, I'm like this.

"To be fair, it's not my best season anyway, because it was a bit like the team's. We started well, and I started well, then we had some ups and downs and it was the same for me as well.

"I think we missed a bit of consistency this season. That's the only point. When the manager is talking, he is talking about this: consistency.

"If we had two, three, four games with this high level of consistency, we could now be second, or something.

"But we need to work step-by-step for the future.

"Our target is now to finish in the top four and win the Europa League because at the end, we want to win a trophy."
