Arsenal are already a different team under Mikel Arteta according to Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe.
The 42-year-old faced Unai Emery across the technical areas of the Emirates Stadium in October in a game that the Gunners won 1-0.
However, it was not an entirely convincing performance from the hosts as the Cherries tried to take the game to north Londoners to threaten Bernd Leno's goal.
Arteta had to settle for a draw away against Bournemouth in his first game on the touchline as Arsenal head coach as Pierre-Emerick Aubemeyang cancelled out Dan Gosling's opener.
Speaking after the game in his post-match press conference Howe was complimentary to his newly-appointed opponent and the impact he as already had on the way the Gunners play.
"We didn’t quite know what to expect," he said when asked about Arsenal. "We assumed their philosophy would change and I think it did.
"It was quite visible to see them playing in a slightly different way.
"The system was different but we couldn't plan for that. We had no idea really what they were going to do, we had to plan for us and make sure we were better than we were against Burnley."
Arteta praised his own team for their efforts and the intensity and commitment they showed in his first game in the dugout.
The former Arsenal captain returned to the Emirates Stadium to become head coach earlier in December after spending three years working under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
He helped the ex-Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager lift the Premier League title on two occasions during his time at the Etihad Stadium, in addition to completing a unique domestic treble last season.
It was not merely the number of trophies won that marked out Arteta's side, however. Under Guardiola, City have come to press with more intensity, higher up the pitch, and take teams apart with their positional play off the ball and quick passing to feet.
Arsenal are expected to follow suit and while their new head coach may have had a limited window of opportunity to coach new patterns of play into his team Howe's first impressions suggest changes are already being made.
