Eddie Hearn hits out at "desperate" Tyson Fury team over fight offer

Eddie Hearn has labelled Tyson Fury's team as "desperate" after they claimed Anthony Joshua rejected their fight offer.

Heavyweight champion Fury recently claimed that he sent a draft contract to Joshua, but Matchroom Boxing boss Hearn denied ever receiving the offer. Fury's promoter Frank Warren responded by hitting out at labelling Joshua and Hearn as "full of s***" also telling the duo to stop "p*****ng around".

Hearn was baffled by Warren's rant as he told iFL TV: "That was just bizarre, I was like 'What the f*** is going on here?'. He said that he will sign or forge the contract? Look, we've got a really nice thing going with George Warren. I don't mean this disrespectfully because my old man is one of them, but these older boys have got to go and have a sit down.

Will Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury ever fight? Let us know your prediction in the comments section below

"What Frank Warren does is completely ruin any chance of the fight getting made. Me and George will speak and agree to not saying anything, to that respect we've said nothing. Frank comes out with that. It looked so desperate because they are desperate, they have no offer from Saudi Arabia and they have no fight."

Former two-time heavyweight champion Joshua has been linked to a rematch against Dillian Whyte in August before an illustrious showdown with Deontay Wilder in December. Hearn insisted he is up for discussing a potential fight between Joshua and Fury, but thinks Warren's recent comments are not helping any negotiations between the two parties.

"We have an offer without a contract so we need to wait on that contract," Hearn added. "Don't forget that Frank has never done a fight with Saudi Arabia, I have done two fights. I'm well up for talking about the Fury fight in September, but we have our plan for August and December. Do you think interviews like that are going to help, 'Anthony Joshua, you're a coward'.

"You've absolutely lost your mind. What are you doing, is that the sign of someone trying to make a fight? The public have wised up to Frank Warren and Tyson Fury, they aren't fooling for it anymore and we aren't fooling for it anymore. We will make the fight and talk about in sensibly, but what we won't get into is 'Sign the contract you p*****s'. What's that?"
