Eddie Goldman among 3 Bears players placed on reserve/COVID-19 list

The NFL is in the midst of a COVID-19 outbreak in December, where it’s hit some teams pretty bad, including the Chicago Bears.

One day after placing defensive end Mario Edwards Jr. on the list, the Bears have added three more players to the COVID list: nose tackle Eddie Goldman, cornerback Artie Burns and outside linebacker Sam Kamara (who’s on the practice squad).

That brings Chicago’s COVID-19 list to five players as Goldman, Burns and Kamara join Edwards and offensive tackle Elijah Wilkinson on the list.

The past two days have been especially brutal for the NFL. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, there was a record 37 positive COVID tests Monday with the expectation that Tuesday would see north of at least 25. That makes it at least 62 player positive tests in the past two days.

That doesn’t mean that Goldman, Burns and Kamara tested positive, necessarily, as they could be close contacts. But it also doesn’t mean they didn’t test positive.

If they’re vaccinated, they can return to the team after two negative tests at least 24 hours apart. If they’re not vaccinated, they have to quarantine for 10 days before those two negative tests.
